چکیده

Gingivostomatitis is a common finding in veterinary feline patients. Many conditions and infectious agents have been suggested to play part pathogenesis of chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS), including pathogens noninfectious factors. The most approaches treating are pharmacotherapy surgical dental extraction. However, despite the application these methods, treatment progress often unsatisfactory: many cats show little or no improvement require further treatment. Data from literature indicate high therapeutic efficacy tooth extraction combined with mesenchymal stem cell application. This method can significantly improve effectiveness patient’s prognosis compared alone, which choice case gingivostomatitis. Mesenchymal cells multipotent progenitor that divide, differentiate, eventually trigger genesis different tissues. Furthermore, they exhibit anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, antimicrobial effects modulate neoangiogenesis. These other properties cells, whose biology has studied described detail, explain their beneficial FCGS For surgeons considering this method, sources include bone marrow adipose tissue. There established isolation protocols, summarized publication.

Therapeutic Efficacy of Fresh, Autologous Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Severe Refractory Gingivostomatitis in Cats

UNLABELLED Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a promising therapy for immune-mediated and inflammatory disorders, because of their potent immunomodulatory properties. In this study, we investigated the use of fresh, autologous, adipose-derived MSCs (ASCs) for feline chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS), a chronic, debilitating, idiopathic, oral mucosal inflammatory disease. Nine cats with refractory...

Chronic Gingivostomatitis with Esophagitis in Cats

BACKGROUND Chronic gingivostomatitis in cats (FCG) is a debilitating disease with potentially deleterious effects on overall health. HYPOTHESIS/OBJECTIVES Little is known about the pathophysiology and overall impact of FCG. The aims of our study were to investigate whether gingivostomatitis occurs concurrently with esophagitis, if FCG treatment contributes to esophagitis and if esophagitis ex...

Mesenchymal stem cell therapy in the treatment of hip osteoarthritis

This study was performed to investigate the safety and efficacy of the intra-articular infusion of ex vivo expanded autologous bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSC) to a cohort of patients with articular cartilage defects in the hip. The above rationale is sustained by the notion that MSCs express a chondrocyte differential potential and produce extracellular matrix molecules as w...

Mesenchymal stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis: current perspectives

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a painful chronic condition with a significant impact on quality of life. The societal burden imposed by OA is increasing in parallel with the aging population; however, no therapies have demonstrated efficacy in preventing the progression of this degenerative joint disease. Current mainstays of therapy include activity modification, conservative pain management strategie...
